“Restrukt” meeting disrupted by OMON operation

The meeting held on 28 June 2014 by the ultra-right movement “Restrukt” in the “Izmaylovo” concert hall in Moscow turned out to be more chaotic than expected, as the event was disrupted by the OMON (the Russian special police unit).

It is reported that at the beginning of the meeting, instead of the video prepared by the organizers, the participants were shown a video accusing the movement's leaders of battening on other members of the organization. The organizers tried to stop the video, but in vain. At that moment the OMON burst into the hall and made everyone present lie down on the ground.

Four activists of the organization were detained during the operation. The OMON gradually let the rest of the assembly go home, after taking their personal data.

Just a week earlier, three members of “Restrukt” had been arrested in Moscow by court order. They are suspected in the murder of a 37-year-old man from Tajikistan.
