Radical right-wing Russian websites are closed down

We have already observed, that Russian radical right-wing internet resources exhibit the tendency to be closed down, which has become evident in March 2006. We note the same tendency in May 2006: six websites run by three Russian neonazi groups have been closed by providers for violations of the custom agreement forbidding straight appeals for terrorism, political murders and racist violence.

The most significant is the closure of 2 websites belonging to the Jury Belyaev's :Freedom Party; (the main party site and the Moscow office site were closed down during one month). It is Jury Belyaev, who was the first to suggest the idea of creating so called :White Patrols;, skinhead groups committing racist murders. It is his website, where the :Manual on street terror; was published for the first time, containing not only straight calls for racist murders, but also detailed instructions on how to do it in practice and how to behave after being caught by the police.

Another site closed by the internet providers belonged to a small neonazi group :Russian Republic; (with a leader Vladimir Popov) which had detached from the :Freedom Party;. This group became widely known after taking (fictitious) charge for the murder of Nikolai Girenko, scientist and antifascist from St. Petersburg. (Two years ago, on June 19, 2004, Nikolai Girenko, an ethnologist who made legal expertise of any racist crimes committed in St. Petersburg and in the North-West of Russia, was shot dead at the door of his St. Petersburg apartment.) Besides, one of the group members, Alexander Vtulkin who calls himself a :prime minister of Russian Republic;, was convicted of public endangerment to the governor Valentina Matvienko in 2005.

Besides, two websites of regional skinhead groups were closed.
